Barbara S. Cook, Ph.D., LCSW

Barbara Cook PhD is a nationally board-certified Clinical Sexologist and a licensed clinical social worker. Dr. Cook has had a counseling practice in the Tampa Bay area since 2001. She has presented and written articles to the professional community on intimacy, sexuality and aging, and illness affect on sexuality. She has appeared on local television shows and quoted in local newspapers as a sexuality expert.

Dr. Cook holds membership in the American Academy of Clinical Sexologist, a Diplomat of the American Board of Sexology, member of the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapist, National Association of Social Workers, The Tampa Bay Association of Women Psychotherapist, International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health.

Dr. Cook treats individuals and couples with relationship issues. Dr. Cook believes that women and men have an innate right to experience their sexual power, eroticism and ultimate pleasure as an individual and in a relationship. A combination of cognitive behavioral and mind/body approaches are tailed to meet the individual needs of each patient.
