Dr. Tennie holds a Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy, she is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and holds a PhD in Clinical Sexology and a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy (ABD). As founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Healing Arts Institute of South Florida International, Inc. Dr. Tennie strives to deliver on Healing Arts mission of “Inspiring Hope, Health, & Mental Well-Being”. Dr. Tennie has over ten years of experience providing trauma therapy, she is a Broward County certified school teacher in the area of social science, and has over 9 years experience in research on the early diagnosis, treatment, and importance of psycho-education regarding autism. Dr. Tennie’s wide-ranging interests have led to studies in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Early Childhood Sexual Education. In 2016 and 2017 she was nominated by Nova Southern University as alumni of the year. She has presented internationally at The Normal University in Beijing, China, in 2015 on the prevalence of autism in the US and China; The National Sex Conference in Munich Germany, in 2016, on Polyamorous systems; and Nationally at The Association of Black Sexologists and Clinicians and Columbia College Chicago, in 2018 and 2021 in St. Thomas.
