Andrés is a sex educator, sexuality researcher, and embodiment coach. A self-proclaimed pleasure activist, he advocates for promoting holistic and integrated healing and wellness practices that recognize sexual expression, gender identity, and sexual orientation as critical components for living a happy, fulfilling life.
Currently pursuing a PhD in human sexuality at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, his dissertation (currently in progress) focuses on sacred intimacy, an approach to promoting sexual healing and expansion of life experience. He also serves as a postdoctoral research fellow for the Sexual health, Erotic life, and pleasure eXperiencing (SEX) Project led by Prof. B. Ethan Coston, Principal Investigator, with the Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. His prior experience includes working at a sexual health and wellness clinic supervising a team of patient advocates who work with patients from marginalized populations. He regularly delivers programs, workshops, and personal coaching on a broad range of topics. He writes regularly about sacred sexuality, gay men and sexuality, and somatic practices that support erotic and sexual healing.
A lifelong Texan, Andrés currently lives in San Antonio. His hobbies include creating acrylic painted artwork on marble slabs that celebrate spirituality, sexuality, eros, and creative expression. He enjoys traveling, camping, hiking, and cooking, as well as spending quality time with friends and family.
