Dr. Pasahow’s unique approach to working with couples’ issues and their sexual problems combines years of sex therapy experience with cutting-edge research in neuroscience (the study of the human brain), the biological need to bond with others and an understanding of human emotional arousal behavior. Using a wide variety of creative techniques drawn from evidence based research makes her approach effective and at the same time fun and exciting.

Dr. Pasahow, a specialist in the healing of trauma, uses a blend of EMDR, Somatic Experiencing and Hypnotherapy to help individuals and couples move gently through the effects of traumatic memories and experiences. This approach uses the body’s innate resiliency to provide complete healing and recovery. Evidence has shown that this approach is more effective than traditional talk therapy.

Dr. Pasahow’s professional memberships include: The American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT), American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH), Clinical Hypnosis Society of New Jersey, EMDR Institute and EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), The Flash Technique Community, National Association of Social Workers (Diplomate in Clinical Social Work), National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis (NAAP), PACT Institute for Couple Therapy, Society for Sex Therapy and Research (SSTAR) and Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute.
