Dr. Claudia Smith is the owner and main clinician at Intimacy and Pleasure. She brings a personable, energetic, and thorough approach to her work, along with a rich background in teaching, mental health counseling, and hospital chaplaincy. Her years of living and traveling in cross cultural settings such as the Caribbean, Central America, and North America, have made her deeply appreciative of diversity issues and an advocate for the dignity and worth of all people. She is a graduate of Butler University (Indiana), Lancaster Theological Seminary (Pennsylvania), and the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists (Florida), from which she graduated with a doctoral degree in clinical sexology. She has completed studies in Violence Against Women and Trauma Response & Crisis Intervention at Rutgers University, New Jersey, and in Logotherapy through the Viktor Frankl Institute of Logotherapy, (Texas). Her credentials include Diplomate, the American Board of Sexology, Academic Associate, Victor Frankl Institute of Logotherapy, PREPARE/ENRICH and P.A.I.R.S facilitator. She is a member of the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT), and the American Association of Experts in Traumatic Stress. Outside of her clinical work she can be found travelling, dancing, and visiting quaint shops.
