Melanie Jones Owen, Psy.D., Ed.D., (Expired Certification)

Dr. Melanie Jones Owen spent the first 20 years of her career as a university professor and college dean. During that time, she also accumulated many years of experience as a Sexuality Coach and Sexuality Educator. She initially earned a Doctorate in Education (2006) and later decided to pursue a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (2021). Her psychology specialty is multi-faceted and includes Organizational Cognitive Neuroscience (OCN), Human Sexuality and Sexology, and Forensic Neuropsychology. Dr. Owen understands the dynamic influence that our sexuality and sexual well-being serve within every facet of our lives. This focus on the relationship between brain-behavior-sexuality is investigated within a general organizational context, as well as specific work within a maximum security prison setting. Presently, Dr. Owen serves as a Clinical Psychologist with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
