MeYonna SwaVaye received her bachelors from Michigan State University in Family Community Services with a minor in Women and Gender studies, specializing in LGBT studies. She completed her certification as a Clinical Sexuality Coach and Sex Educator from the Dr. Rachel Institute and currently obtaining her Master's in Public Health.
After graduating college MeYonna noticed that there weren't many resources surrounding sexual health in Detroit, at least not to the extent of the idea that MeYonna had. Open, safe space, educational, fun, and no sugarcoating on anything. That's where she came up with the concept of Raw and Explicit in 2017.
