Students will gain a foundational understanding of the field and its importance in promoting sexual health and wellness. 📜
- Session 2: Human Sexual Anatomy and Physiology (Thurs 20 Mar 2025): This week covers the biological foundations of human sexuality, including reproductive anatomy, physiology, and sexual response. Students will learn about the physical aspects of sexual health and wellness. 🔬
- Session 3: Gender Identity, Expression, and Sexual Orientation (Thurs 3 Apr 2025): This week covers the social and cultural aspects of gender identity, expression, and sexual orientation, including LGBTQ+ issues. Students will gain an understanding of the diversity of human sexuality. 🌍
- Session 4: Sexual Health and Wellness (Thurs 17 Apr 2025): This week covers strategies for promoting sexual health and wellness, including sexual pleasure enhancement techniques. Students will learn about ways to enhance their own sexual experiences as well as those of their clients. 💆
- Session 5: Communication Skills in Sexology (Wed 30 April 2025): This week covers effective communication skills for sexologists, including active listening, empathy, and nonverbal communication. Students will learn how to communicate effectively with clients to promote sexual health and wellness. 🗨️ Instead of meeting on Thurs 1 May, which is a Public Holiday
- Session 6: Consent, Boundaries, and Sexual Trauma (Thurs 15 May 2025): This week covers issues related to consent, boundaries, and sexual trauma, including sexual exploitation and abuse. Students will learn how to recognize and respond to these issues in their work. 🚫
- Session 7: Sexual Fantasies, Kinks, and Pornography (Thurs 29 May 2025): This week covers diverse expressions of sexuality, including sexual fantasies, kinks, pornography, and cybersex. Students will gain an understanding of these topics and how they relate to sexual health and wellness. 🌌
- Session 8: Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and Contraception (Thurs 12 Jun 2025): This week covers the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of STIs, as well as contraception options. Students will learn about the importance of safe sex practices and how to promote them. 🩺
- Session 9: Infertility, Assisted Reproductive Technologies, and Sexual Identity Development (Thurs 26 Jun 2025): This week covers issues related to infertility, assisted reproductive technologies, and sexual identity development. Students will learn about these topics and how they relate to sexual health and wellness. 🤰
- Session 10: Couples Therapy and Sex Therapy (Thurs 10 Jul 2025): This week covers the principles and techniques of couples therapy and sex therapy, including assessment, treatment planning, and intervention. - Session 11: Sexuality and Aging, Disability, and Alternative Sexualities and Relationships (Thurs 24 Jul 2025): This week covers issues related to sexuality across the lifespan, including aging, disability, and alternative sexualities and relationships. Course Completion Requirements:

- Achieve a passing grade on the week 13 exam and finish 36 multiple-choice questions. 🏅
- Complete a 1-hour one-to-one virtual Q&A integration session with Dr. Martha Tara Lee at the conclusion of the course. 🎉
This program meets the requirements of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for 45 CE credits.
