Let’s Talk About Sex: With Survivors of Sexual Abuse – Rebecca Mitchell

May 23 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm BST
Let’s Talk About Sex: With Survivors of Sexual Abuse Workshop with Rebecca Mitchell

This workshop is aimed to look at how we can support Survivors in their journeys towards having a healthy relationship with their sexuality after the trauma of experiencing sexual abuse.

We will be looking at sexual ambivalence, the confusion around pleasure, tackling triggers, and working towards a healthy sex model. We will also be looking in a gentle way at our own early learnings around sex and what we might want to hold onto and what we might want to let go of.

Learning Objective Participants Can Expect From This Event

  • Gaining understanding on the ambivalence, sexual confusion and misplaced guilt Survivors may feel around sex and sexuality.
  • Psycho-education and tools we can pass on to support to our clients (where appropriate) to support and empower them in their journey.
  • An opportunity to explore our own feelings around our early learnings around sexuality and how this may impact us today in our work in order to set them aside where appropriate
